Long Live McQueen

McQueen's been a lot in our mouths lately. Royal Wedding and all...
Today is the Met's Costume Institute Gala (otherwise know as the best red carpet of the year) inaugurating an exhibition entirely dedicated to McQueen's work and genius. And I'm sure I'm not the only one dying to see this show, so for those of us who won't be able to see it, I've made a small compilation of videos so we all get our dose of McQueen.
Enjoy!

One of my favorite things McQueen ever did. Ge-nius!

Kate Moss' hologram.

Plato Atlantis. The last collecion by Lee Alexander McQueen, and some even say his best one.

Neon DIY

Remember my DIY Yellow Clutch???
Well get ready for some more DIY time...

B from Just B made a Céline - inspired DIY clutch, and I can't wait to make my own.
She used a clutch from American Apparel and paint, but why not make your own clutch following StyleScrapbook's instructions (the ones I used for my clutch) here ???
DIY galore!!!

Happy DIY-ing!

Meet Frieda + Nellie

Lately it's been al about Friendship Bracelets.

(as you can see, screencaps from the Frieda+Nellie site)

Ran by two best friends, Sarah Reid and Stacy Herzog, under the mantra 'reuse, repurpose, reinvent, they're taking the friendship bracelet to a whole new level mixing ethnic knotted string bracelets with vintage jewelry.
How rad are these bracelets???
First to themselves until a WWD reporter saw their stacked arms and bang! They've been featured in Elle, Vogue Nippon, Cosmo, Marie Claire and made a limited-edition jewelry line for J.Crew that is being sold at Le Bon Marche in Paris, Barneys and Henri Bendel.

Quite a duo, huh?

That summertime sound...

When Festival Season comes, it means summer is just around the corner.
And with that whole buffalo bill-navajo-hippie-mexican thing going on, I can hardly wait.
Fringe and jewelry galore, bright colors, colorful patterns, feathers and flowers, music festivals...
come to mamma!
